Abraham Lincoln (Abe) Cross age 57 and Mary Jane Cross age 70 were children of John T. Cross and Genetta Underwood.

John T. Cross was the son of Elijah Cross and Mary (Polly) Winters, and the grandson of my fourth great grandfather William Cross the Revolutionary War drummer boy.

Genetta Underwood was the daughter of William Underwood and Lucretia.  It seems extremely likely that this William Underwood was a part of my Underwood family from Rowan County, North Carolina and Sevier County, Tennessee, but I have not been able to verify the connection.

In 1920, Mary Jane Cross was the widow of Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goss.  They were married on 5 Jun 1884 in Morgan County.  Dr. Goss died in 1909.

Charlie's middle name of Choate comes from his great grandmother Vesta Zipporah Choate, wife of Charlie's great grandfather John England.  Charlie's father John England was named for Charlie's great grandfather John England.

This census entry is very difficult for indexers.  The "C" of "Chas." is either very faint or perhaps missing altogether.  His given name looks like "has C.", with a lower case "h".
