Moore, James A. - age 78 of Dandridge passed away suddenly Friday morning February 13, 2004. He was a retired truck driver for Hess Cartage, active member of French Broad Church of the Brethren and served on various committees. Preceded in death by wife Gladys B. Moore. He was a veteran of the US Navy and WWII where he received the American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. Survivors: wife: Mabel Miller Moore; children: Jim Moore and wife Dona, Jenny Mae Derby and husband Robert (Bob), Bill Moore; step children: Edwin Kyte, Susan Johnson, and Tim Kyte; grandchildren: Robert and Gregg Derby, Elizabeth Neil, Rachel Moore, Will Jones, Heather England, Jennifer, Laura, Amy, Holly and Anthony; several great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2004 at the French Broad Church of the Brethren with Rev. Ronald Wine officiating. Interment will follow in the Balch Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday, 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.

    Moore, Mabel Miller - age 85, of Dandridge, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mildred (Cox) Miller. She was a member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren and was a long time popular cake decorator with the University of Tennessee Bakery. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. Moore; and son, Charles Anthony Kyte. Survived by sons, Edwin (Nancy) Kyte, Tim (Pam) Kyte; and daughter, Susan (Danny) Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer Kuth, Amy Johnson, Holly Burton, Laura Kyte, and Anthony Kyte; five great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Wilson, Margie Sams, Vivian Thornhill and Janice Satterfield; several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services, Monday, July 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Ron Wine officiating. Family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
