John Walter Bray Died At Hospital Early Today. John Walter Bray, 58, of 810 Keith Avenue, died early this morning at the Anniston Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be announced later by Colonial Chapel. Mr. Bray is survived by his wife, Mrs. Goldie Mae Bray; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Brantley and Mrs. Salina Mooney of Anniston, and Mrs. Virgil Lux of Shelbyville, Ind.; two sons, Charles Bray of Anniston, and William Bryan of the U. S. Army overseas; three brothers, W. W. and Ed Bray of Lenoir City, Tenn., and Henry Bray of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Miss Dosia Bray, of Lenoir City (sic, Hazel Dosia Bray was his niece); and one grandchild.

Burial: at Highland Cemetery Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama.

Goldie lived most of her married life in Alabama where her husband Walter served in the Army. After Walter died in 1948, Goldie moved to Indiana to live near her daughters Juanita and Louise.

Goldie Mae Bray, 94, died today at Heritage house Convalescent Center, where she had been a resident since 1979. Born may 24, 1896, in Lenoir City, Tennessee, she was a daughter of William and Nancy O. Sewell Voiles. On November 27, 1915, she married John Walter Bray. He preceded her in death in 1948. Mrs. Bray was a homemaker and had lived in Shelbyville since 1950. She was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Juanita) Lux, and Mrs. Lewis (Louise) Browning, both of Shelbyville, and Salina Mooney, Alameda, California; one son William E. Bray, Anniston, Alabama; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and a son. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home. Revs. Robert Milam and Bill Horner will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
