Reuben died on 20 October 1870 in Greene County, Tennessee. He was buried about 21 October 1870 in Greene County, Tennessee. Some sources say that he was buried in the Antioch Cemetery. However, he died before the cemetery was established, and it seems more likely that he was buried on his farm. There were fifteen unmarked graves on what in modern times was known as Eason's farm. When the Interstate was built through Greene County in the 1970's and 1980's, the graves were reinterred at the Mount Sinai church. There is a good chance that Reuben's grave was one of the fifteen that were reinterred. Also, Coxes and Easons were among the founding members of the Mount Sinai church in 1888. Bill Cox (E-mail: fas1927@aol.com) has suggested that my Reuben Cox may have been descended from the Cox line of Essex County, Virginia. Essex County should be researched from about 1650-1830. The Essex County line included Reuben, Thomas, Aris, John, William, Abner, Streshley, George. These are many of the same given names that later appear in Wilkes County, North Carolina at the same time as my Reuben Cox.
