Tobias C Peters and Mary Jane Wright were married on 24 June 1869 in [Fentress County, Tennessee].⁵⁸ The date of their marriage comes from the family bible rather than from courthouse records. There is no record of the marriage in courthouse records for Morgan County, and courthouse records for Fentress County were destroyed in a fire. Mary Jane Wright's parents were enumerated in the 1870 census in Fentress family. Tobias and Mary Jane were enumerated in the 1870 census in Morgan County. So the logical guess is that Tobias and Mary Jane were married in Fentress County, and that they lived in Morgan County after the marriage. (RGB)

Obituary:
Peters, Mrs. J. J. died at her home near Burrville Aug. 13. Her remains were laid to rest in Burrville cemetery. She leaves two daughters and six sons to mourn her loss. She was a good Christian woman and was loved by all who knew her. Among those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Will Wright and Asbury Wright Jr., of' Knoxville, John McGuffey of Harriman and Mr. Tarwater of Rockwood.
