Charles Allen (Charley) Peters was the son of Thomas Jefferson (Tom) Peters and Charlotte J. (Sharlley) Shannon.  Charley was born 29 Aug 1878, probably in Morgan County.  He died 13 Sep 1955.

Tom Peters was the son of my third great grandparents John W. Peters and Ruby Smith.  As such, Tom was the brother of my second great grandfather John Henry Peters.  Another way to think of it is that Charley was the first cousin of my great grandfather Alva Edward Peters.

Charlotte J. (Sharlley) Shannon was the daughter of Pleasant Wright (Wright) Shannon and Sidney Viles/Voyls.

Charlotte J. Shannon was widow of Thomas Jefferson (Tom) Peters.  Tom Peters was the son of my third great grandparents John W. Peters and Ruby Smith.  As such, Tom was the brother of my second great grandfather John Henry Peters.

Charlotte J. (Sharlley) Shannon was the daughter of Pleasant Wright (Wright) Shannon and Sidney Viles/Voyls.

A mystery associated with the family is that the death certificate of William Wright Peters lists his father as Tom Peters and his mother as Lollie Voyls rather than as Charlotte or Lollie Shannon.  Charlotte Shannon had several nicknames, one of which was Lollie.  So the nickname per se is not an issue.  The issue is the listing of her surname as Voyls on the death certificate of her son.  Charlotte was born in 1846, and her parents were married in 1849.  All of her own records list her surname as Shannon, but a record for one of her sons lists her surname as Voyls which was her mother's surname.  So perhaps Pleasant Wright (Wright) Shannon was not Charlotte's birth father.

Houston Jones's second wife was Mary Louise (Louise) Hall age 28.  I haven't yet worked out her relationship to the other Halls in the family.  I believe her marriage to Houston Jones was her first marriage.
