Green, Avery R.-50, of the US Air Force (retired) and son of the late Will and Cenie Green of Lenoir City, passed away July 8 at Muskogee Veterans Hospital, Muskogee, Okla. Survivors: brothers, Rufus G. Green, Maryville, Thomas W. Green, US Army (retired); sisters, Mrs. Agnes Wood, Fayetteville, N. C, Wilma A., Berry Hill, Calif. The body will arrive in Lenoir City at 6 a.m. Saturday and be taken to Hawkins Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral, 2 p.m. Sunday, Hawkins chapel. Burial in City Cemetery, with full military honors by American Legion Post No. 70.1

    Green - Services for William, 78, who died at Oak Ridge at 8:15 p. m. Thursday, will be held at Bierley’s Chapel in Lenoir City at 2 p. m. today. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Survivors: widow, Phenie Hipps; three sons, Avery and Woody, in the Air Forces; Rufus, in the Marines; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Madison and Mrs. Wilma Sliger, Oak Ridge; four brothers, Mose, Knoxville; Henry, Avery and Lee, Lenoir City; three sisters, Mrs. Oddie Kagley and Mrs. Rosa Milton, Lenoir City; and Mrs. Geneva Woods, Alabama. The Rev. J. D. Babb will be officiating pastor. The body will lie in state at Bierley’s until the funeral service.
