Reba Potts Harrison of Flintstone died Saturday, July 30, in a local health care facility. She was 78. She was a native and lifelong resident of north Georgia and Chattanooga and was retired from First Tennessee Bank after 43 years of service. She had been a member of the Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church since 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Turner Harrison, parents, Rev. Amos and Mildred Potts; sister, Martha Elizabeth Gentry. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda (Jim) Blackwell; granddaughter, Emily Meeks; great-grandsons, Scott and Zayne Meeks; sisters, Louise Kean, Gertrude Trotter and Mary Smith; several nieces and nephews. Services: Tuesday, Aug. 2, at noon in the funeral home chapelof Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Price officiating. Burial: Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Monday, Aug. 1, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.     Ethel Cox Harrison, third child of George and Loretta Nichols Cox. Ethel is a little different dispositioned than her sister Minnie. She is very mild mannered with one of the nicest dispositions of any one I have ever known. She is very much like her father Uncle George Cox, taking things as they came in stride and smiling along with the bad as well as the good. She is a lovely alto singe rand one of my fondest memories of her and her sister Minnie singing duets when I would be visiting them as a small boy She married Daniel Harrison Aug 24, 1908, he was a local boy of Jefferson County and managed our grandfather's store that was located near her home. Dan was a fine man, he farmed in Jefferson County for a few years after they were married, then moved to Morristown, Tenn. There they raised quite a large family. Several years ago Dan’s health became impaired and he had a stroke and was a semi-invalid for a good many years but with all of this neither he nor Ethel would complain. I remember very well the last time I saw Dan. I visited their home and he had a fine garden of flowers and vegetables. Even though handicapped he kept smiling. He died a few years ago; and is buried in the Morristown Cemetery.

    Ethel and Dan had eight children, namely, Amos, George, Turner, Lucille, Frank and Cora (twins), Helen and Margaret.

    Amos I believe is in the freight business. He married Lucille Jones. They have four children, namely, Robert, Daniel, William and Amos, Jr.

    Daniel, second son of Amos, married Ann Bryan. They have one child, Michael Bryan. William, the third son of Amos and Lucille Jones Harrison, is married to Ann Bales. No children at this writing. Amos’ other children are not married at this time.

    George, second son of Dan and Ethel Cox Harrison, married Viola Cameron. They have five children, namely, Rochelle, Porter, Jane, Richard and John. None of these children are married at this writing.

    Turner, third son of Dan and Ethel Cox, Harrison married Reba Pots. They have one child, namely, Wanda.

    Lucille, oldest daughter of Dan and Ethel Cox Harrison, married Mack Biddle of Morristown, Tenn. They have one child, namely, Charles Eugene.

Wanda Harrison Hagan Blackwell, 57, of Ooltewah, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at her home. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and was retired from Erlanger Medical Center with 25 years of service. She also was a member of Elks Lodge 91 and graduated from Chattanooga High School and Martin College. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Reba Harrison. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Emily and James Meeks, Ooltewah; two grandchildren, Scott Meeks and Zayne Meeks; sister, Deb Pippin, Georgetown, Tenn.; special friends, Pat and Lisa Hagan and Eldon Hyde. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions may be made to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation at CCFA.org. A memorial mass will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Diaz officiating. Please share your thoughts and memories online at mem.com. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Lucile Harrison Biddle; son, Charles Eugene Biddle, at home; mother, Mrs. C. M. Biddle, Sr., White Pine; sisters, Mrs. Earl Hersley, Huntingdon, Ind., Mrs. George W. Ex-Sheriff Biddle Dies in Jamestown Jamestown, Tenn., Aug. 28
(Special)—C. M. (Mac) Biddle, who resigned two weeks ago as Jefferson County sheriff because of failing health, died of a heart attack at 12:20 a.m. today at Fentress County Hospital. He was 46. The hospital said he had been a patient there for the past three days. Only last Tuesday, the Jefferson County Court sitting at Dandridge elected County Chairman Harrell Ellison as sheriff to complete Biddle's unexpired term. Sheriff Ellison took office Wednesday. Last October, the ailing Sheriff Biddle disappeared from Knoxville's Presbyterian Hospital while under the influence of medication. He showed up at his home in White Pine, explaining: “I just left the hospital to enter a hospital near home.” At that time, he explained he was suffering from kidney stones. He leaves his w i f e, Mrs. Lucile Harrison Biddle; son, Charles Eugene Biddle; mother. Mrs. C. M. Biddle Sr., all of White Pine; sisters, Mrs. Earl Horsley, Huntingdon, Ind., Mrs. George W. Hill, Knoxville; Mrs. E. H. Allen, Lexington, Ky.6

    (Special)—C. M. (Mac) Biddle, who resigned two weeks ago as Jefferson County sheriff because of failing health, died of a heart attack at 12:20 a.m. today at Fentress County Hospital. He was 46. The hospital said he had been a patient there for the past three days. Only last Tuesday, the Jefferson County Court sitting at Dandridge elected County Chairman Harrell Ellison as sheriff to complete Biddle's unexpired term. Sheriff Ellison took office Wednesday. Last October, the ailing Sheriff Biddle disappeared from Knoxville's Presbyterian Hospital while under the influence of medication. He showed up at his home in White Pine, explaining: “I just left the hospital to enter a hospital near home.” At that time, he explained he was suffering from kidney stones. He leaves his w i f e, Mrs. Lucile Harrison Biddle; son, Charles Eugene Biddle; mother. Mrs. C. M. Biddle Sr., all of White Pine; sisters, Mrs. Earl Horsley, Huntingdon, Ind., Mrs. George W. Harrison, Mary Frances, of Cleveland, Miss., died Friday, August 4, 2006 at Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2006 in New Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrison was born on July 25, 1922 in Morristown, to Erastus Hazelwood and Ada Long Hazelwood. She married John Frank Harrison on December 25, 1938. They moved to Cleveland in 1958 where they both employed with ET &WNC Transportation Company, retiring after 25 years of service. She was active in the Women's Bowling League and the Merigold Methodist Quilting Circle, and was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Harrison; and her parents, Erastus and Ada Hazelwood. Survivors include her three daughters, Sandra Feduccia of Cleveland, Phyllis McDaniel of Helena, Ark., and Deanie Cole of Harrison, Ark.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care. Arrangements by Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Miss.

    Ethel Cox Harrison, third child of George and Loretta Nichols Cox. Ethel is a little different dispositioned than her sister Minnie. She is very mild mannered with one of the nicest dispositions of any one I have ever known. She is very much like her father Uncle George Cox, taking things as they came in stride and smiling along with the bad as well as the good. She is a lovely alto singe rand one of my fondest memories of her and her sister Minnie singing duets when I would be visiting them as a small boy She married Daniel Harrison Aug 24, 1908, he was a local boy of Jefferson County and managed our grandfather's store that was located near her home. Dan was a fine man, he farmed in Jefferson County for a few years after they were married, then moved to Morristown, Tenn. There they raised quite a large family. Several years ago Dan’s health became impaired and he had a stroke and was a semi-invalid for a good many years but with all of this neither he nor Ethel would complain. I remember very well the last time I saw Dan. I visited their home and he had a fine garden of flowers and vegetables. Even though handicapped he kept smiling. He died a few years ago; and is buried in the Morristown Cemetery.

    Ethel and Dan had eight children, namely, Amos, George, Turner, Lucille, Frank and Cora (twins), Helen and Margaret.

    Amos I believe is in the freight business. He married Lucille Jones. They have four children, namely, Robert, Daniel, William and Amos, Jr.

    Daniel, second son of Amos, married Ann Bryan. They have one child, Michael Bryan. William, the third son of Amos and Lucille Jones Harrison, is married to Ann Bales. No children at this writing. Amos’ other children are not married at this time.

    George, second son of Dan and Ethel Cox Harrison, married Viola Cameron. They have five children, namely, Rochelle, Porter, Jane, Richard and John. None of these children are married at this writing.
