Tadlock, Bobby Lynn - age 76 passed away at Hillcrest North on June 5, 2009, after a courageous battle with Metastatic Melanoma. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church, the Christian Home Builders Class and Bright Hope Lodge. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He was preceded in death by parents, Taylor B. and Rhoda Koontz Tadlock; and brother, Bill Tadlock. He is survived by wife, Lorieta Peters Tadlock; son, Dr. Barry Lynn Tadlock, of Athens, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Susie Tadlock; sister-in-law, Margaret Tadlock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Ruth Bryan and Paul and Irene Tarver; sister-in-law Helen Peters; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a manager of Sterchi Brothers Furniture Store and Heilig-Meyers Furniture Store and in recent years was associated with Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 5 pm Sunday at Fountain City Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Whedbee, Rev. Don Hanshew, Rev. Melissa Smith, Rev. Gordon Ridenour, Rev Priscilla Bryan and Rev. David Peters officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fountain City Methodist Church to the fund of your choice. Honorary pallbearers will be the Christian Home Builders Class. Pallbearers will be the staff of Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 pm Monday at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday at Fountain City Methodist Church. Gentry-Griffey Chapel is in charge of arrangements.11

He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church, where he taught the Friendship Sunday School Class for 26 years and served as chairman for the building program. He was a Mason. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Rose Murphy Peters; daughters, Mrs. Lucille Wright of Centerburg, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Bryan, Mrs. Virginia Irene Tarver and Mrs. Loretta Tadlock, all of Knoxville; sons, Ernest L. Peters Jr. and Howard R. Peters of Corryton; stepchildren; James P. Murphy of Sweetwater, Larry W. Murphy of Morristown, Guerry Carl Murphy of Johnson City and Mary Aileen Peters of Corryton; sisters, Mrs. Clyde Cole of Knoxville and Mrs. Eliza Letsinger of Powell; brothers, W. B., S. A. and R. E.     Ernest Lester Peters, 76, a foreman at Knoxville Stove Works for 26 years until his retirement in 1943, died yesterday afternoon at his home on Tazewell Pike, Corryton. Mr. Peters was also employed by the Atomic Energy Commission in Oak Ridge from 1943 until 1953. He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church, where he taught the Friendship Sunday School Class for 26 years and served as chairman for the building program. He was a Mason. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Rose Murphy Peters; daughters, Mrs. Lucille Wright of Centerburg, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Bryan, Mrs. Virginia Irene Tarver and Mrs. Loretta Tadlock, all of Knoxville; sons, Ernest L. Peters Jr. and Howard R. Peters of Corryton; stepchildren; James P. Murphy of Sweetwater, Larry W. Murphy of Morristown, Guerry Carl Murphy of Johnson City and Mary Aileen Peters of Corryton; sisters, Mrs. Clyde Cole of Knoxville and Mrs. Eliza Letsinger of Powell; brothers, W. B., S. A. and R. E. Peters of Knoxville. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Stevens chapel with Rev. Robert L. Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

The couple exchanged wedding vows Oct. 4, 1952. He is retired from the University of Tennessee where he was a tax professor. Their children are Wade Letsinger, Sam Letsinger and John Letsinger, all of Knoxville, Janice Irby of Yorktown, Va. and Jim Letsinger of Franklin. There are 12 grandchildren.9

Knoxville - M.C. Letsinger, age 91, of Knoxville passed away on Friday March 27, 2020. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and choir. He was a longtime tax professor at the University of Tennessee, an avid fisherman, golfer, and devoted, selfless husband and father. Preceded in death by son, Wade Clyde Letsinger. He is survived by wife, Mary Katherine Letsinger; sons, Samuel Edward Letsinger (Kathryn Lee), James Patrick Letsinger (Lisa), and John T. Letsinger (Kristi); daughter, Janice Letsinger Irby (Richard); fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cynthia K. Letsinger; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends can call at their convenience from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday March 29, 2020, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday March 30, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery with Monsignor Bill Gahagan officiating. A memorial mass will be announced at a later date. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a retired Seamstress, having worked for several interior design firms, including Cleveland's, Inc. Mrs. Letsinger was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Letsinger and son, Gary Letsinger. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law Glen and Pamela Letsinger of Farragut; grandchildren, Kelly Rene and Chris Stapleton of Seymour, Mindy Lee and Steve Delaney of Knoxville, Dawn Michelle Flynn, Joshua W. Calloway and Kimberly Diann Letsinger, three great-grandchildren, Adam Christopher Stapleton, Dallas Steven Delancy (sic - Delaney) and Ryan Cameron Stapleton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Polly Faulkner and Walter and Letha Faulkner; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Frank Palmer, all of Knoxville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with pastors J. Steven Misenheimer and L.C. Sparks for officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers: Steve Delancy (sic - Delaney), Josh Calloway, Ricky Cash, Chris Stapleton, Eddie and Danny Faulkner. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.6

Their children are Wade Letsinger, Sam Letsinger and John Letsinger, all of Knoxville, Janice Irby of Yorktown, Va. and Jim Letsinger of Franklin. There are 12 grandchildren.1

Mary Katherine Wade Letsinger, age 90, of Knoxville passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and The Ladies of Charity. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, skilled knitter and baker of treats. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Clyde Letsinger and son, Wade Clyde Letsinger. She is survived by sons, Samuel Edward Letsinger (Kathryn Lee), James Patrick Letsinger (Lisa), and John T. Letsinger (Kristi); daughter, Janice Letsinger Irby (Richard); fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; daughter-inlaw, Cynthia K. Letsinger; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers, Bekah, Briana, Debra, and Kim, and the service of Stay at Home. Their loving dependable care for our parents will not be forgotten. The family would also like to thank Tennova Hospice. Their support was constant and comforting. Friends may call at their convenience from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on July 2, 2020 at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL. A Rosary Prayer Service will follow at 7:00 pm. Their loving dependable care for our parents will not be forgotten. The family would also like to thank Tennova Hospice. Their support was constant and comforting. Friends may call at their convenience from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on July 2, 2020 at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL. A Rosary Prayer Service will follow at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 am, July 3, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service with Monsignor Bill Gahagan officiating. A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church or the Ladies of Charity.
